T – Technology
P – Pedagogy A – and C – Content K – Knowledge Pedagogy is the how. This area revolves around how to teach the students. Technology is based on the tools you as an educator have at your disposal. And the content refers to what you need to teach the students. Our goal is to use all of the following to create a successful 21st century learning environment. However, sometimes we are only able to cover 2 out of the 3 topics. If this happens a combination such as Pedagogy and content is good but dated. Students need to have the engagement that technology brings to our classrooms. If we combine content and 21st century technology students often are limited on how much they learn. Educators have to use “the how” method to see successful learning. Last, if we combine Technology and Pedagogy often we keep the students excited but can forget about important content. I believe this framework is applicable for the majority of my classes since they are heavily engulfed with technology. However, sometimes I can see how effectively teaching the content can escape us. So often I see students have the desire to learn about photography and Photoshop only to find that they have many obstacles to overcome. Not all technology is easy to use. Our students are engaged everyday with devices that are practically idiot-proof. AKA Smartphones!. An unfortunately many of them have forgotten how to work towards difficult goals. Last, I see many secondary students struggle with easy computer tasks such as copy and paste, printing, typing skills, loading an image, or even searching for knowledge and content on the internet. #TheStruggleIsReal #FirstWorldProblems
